Stereoactive Media presents the 14th official entry in its music catalog, co-released with Totally Real Records – a maxi-single called Attempted Cultural Figure by theJLM. Written and produced in just the last few months, the title track tells the story of someone trying to build themselves into a successful online personality by following a path of least resistance: a right-wing grift. Written in the wake of a certain high profile killing, the song is presented in three different forms – the original version; a radio edit, and a nearly twelve minute version that expands the sonic landscape of the original by extending the middle section of the song and building off the soundbite coda of the original into a crescendoing wall of sound that includes sounds of war along with a segment of Rudyard Kipling's poem, "Boots."

In addition to those three variations on the title track, there is also a b-side called "Comes a Time" that serves as a call to action to face down the rising darkness and creeping authoritarianism, fascism, and all the other -isms in the world.

The full maxi-single is available to buy on Bandcamp. And today happens to be Bandcamp Friday, when artists get a larger cut of the purchase price paid for any of their music, so it's a great day to help further support this project, and the projects of other artists on Bandcamp.

The maxi-single is also available on Soundcloud, Apple Music, Spotify (for now, at least), and YouTube Music:
